A Link to the Past is a game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the third Legend of Zelda game.
Plot[]
In Hyrule a wizard named Agahnim betrays the royal family and claims control of the land. In an attempt to access the Sacred realm the wizard begins rounding up maidens descended from those who sealed the realm away. In a desperate hope of avoiding this fate, Princess Zelda, relays a psychic message which is received by both Link, and his uncle. Link's uncle leaves their cottage to save Zelda unaware that his nephew also received the message and is also heading to do the same thing. Link finds his uncle dying in the castle dungeon and is given a sword and shield to complete his uncles quest. Link must now save the Zelda and the realm from the wizard Agahnim.
This quest tasks him with first freeing the princess and then recovering the triforce of power. After the princess is again taken Link travels to the dark realm where he faces Agahnim's master Ganon. The land is again peaceful.

- At four million copies sold, it is the fourth best-selling Zelda game and the fourth best-selling SNES game.
- The 3DS game, A Link Between Two Worlds is set centuries after this game.
- There was also a GBA version released with Four Swords
- There was also a BS-X broadcast of this game.
- The game is released on Wii's and Wii U's Virtual Console.
