Albert Leornes "Al" Greene, (born 13 April 1946), is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and pastor from Forrest City, Arkansas. He is best known for recording a series of soul hit singles in the early 1970's. For example, "Let's Stay Together", "I'm Still in Love with You" and "Take Me to the River". He has been referred to as "The Last of the Great Soul Singers" and "one of the most gifted purveyors soul music". He was included in the Rolling Stone list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, ranking at number. 65. Greene married Shirley Kyles in 1977 and had three daughters together. The marriage only lasted until early 1983 due to abuse allegations.
