This article pertains to the character of Buzz Lightyear in the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command continuity.
Buzz Lightyear is the protagonist of Disney's Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. In the show Buzz Lightyear is a Space Ranger in service to the Galactic Alliance. Each episode's opening establishes that Buzz Lightyear of Star Command is a fictional show in the Toy Story universe with the toy characters from the films gathering around a small TV to watch the episodes. He's voiced by Patrick Warburton in the animated series and by Chris Evans in the animated feature film that was created by combining the first three episodes of the show into a single narrative. The film was published prior to the animated series release.

Buzz Lightyear finished first in class as a Space Ranger cadet. He was partnered with the second in his class, Warp Darkmatter, after graduation. During his early career Buzz Lightyear earned a number of merits and contributed to a revision in Space Ranger procedure. His contributions where institutionalized as a re-write of half of Space Ranger procedures. Despite this outstanding record Buzz Lightyear was noted for his paranoia, specifically regarding Evil Emperor Zurg. Buzz tended to suspect Zurg first and think up strange plots the Emperor might have. Often his partner Warp Darkmatter would have to guide him towards more rational suspects.

- Evil Buzz Lightyear - In an alternate dimension (introduced in the episode 'The Lightyear Factor') Team Lightyear must confront an evil iteration of Buzz Lightyear whose taken control of Zurg's technology in that dimension. This iteration of Buzz has left most worlds in ruin there and it's never really clear what made him turn evil. Only that he now seeks total galactic domination and is not above the destruction of entire planets to achieve it.
Toy Story Implications[]
As each episode of the series, and the feature film, establish the show to be one within the world of Toy Story it's existence implies that other characters from the show have toy versions of themselves though as evident from toy stores in the films Buzz is the most popular and in demand as of the show's other characters only Evil Emperor Zurg appears in the films.
