Dr. Zachary Smith (portrayed by Jonathan Harris) was a stowaway aboard the Jupitor 2 with a sinister mind. Dr. Smith had tried, as an agent of a foreign power, to sabotage the United States Space Force's Jupitor 2 in 1997. Stuck aboard the vessel he took action to avert a disaster in order to save his own life though in the process his mind- unprotected from the rigors of travel the way the Robinsons where- was damaged. He would over the course of the Jupitor 2's journey become increasingly childish and bizarre.
