Template:Infobox Ermes Effron Borgnino (January 24, 1917 – July 8, 2012), better known as Ernest Borgnine, was an American actor, voice artist, and comedian whose career spanned more than 6 decades. He was an unconventional lead in many films of the 1950s, winning an Oscar in 1955 for Marty. On television, he played Quinton McHale in McHale's Navy and co-starred in Airwolf, in addition to a wide variety of other roles. Borgnine earned an Emmy Award nomination at age 92 for his work on ER. He was also known for being the original voice of Mermaid Man on SpongeBob SquarePants from 1999 to 2012.
On July 8, 2012, Borgnine died at age 95 from renal failure.
