Flash Flannigan was the keyboardist for the Mystery Kids, a band featuring Andy and Mandy Dinwiddie as child popstars. Flash Flannigan while not part of the Dinwiddie family put a lot of effort into the band's success under the supervision of Susan Dinwiddie, the children's mother who served as manager of the band. He came up with the Mystery Machine as the band's van and gave it it's iconic green paintjob with orange flowers based on those in his garden. Andy and Mandy idolized him though one day he stormed off the stage during a concert in what seemed rather abrupt to all in attendance and in the performance. According to Susan Dinwiddie Flash Flannigan had a fatal car accident the night he stormed off. His grave has become a site of speculation for fans of the Mystery Kids as every night a single orange flower is left at the site. [1]
Speculation[]
- There is speculation that due to Susan's obsession with making her children famous her and Flash had friction. Flash's motives could range from a lack of credit or the less selfish concern for the kids. The 'lack of credit' motive seems a bit unlikely as even with Susan's obsession she keeps an autographed poster sized photo of him in the studio.
- Flash Flannigan may have, despite being most remembered for storming off stage, been a chill individual as evident by his gardening hobby, his painting of the Mystery Machine, his presence in a band consisting of two children and himself, as well as his appearance in the photo taken prior to him storming off stage. The all shock his storming off provoked would further signify that it was unexpected of him to do such a thing.
- There is speculation that Flash isn't dead. Even in the episode a made for TV segment the gang watches a VHS of called 'Rewind Music' hints at the prospect that he's merely vanished and leaves the flower at his own grave.
Trivial[]
- Flash Flannigan's tombstone reads "Flash Flannigan; Rock And Roll Will Never Die".
