Jack Leroy "Jackie" Wilson Jr. (9 June 1934 - 21 January 1984), was an American singer, songwriter and performer from Detroit, Michigan. He was important in the transition of "rhythm and blues" into soul. Wilson was considered a master showman, and one of the most influential and dynamic singers/performers in R&B and Rock N Roll history.
