James Norcross is the main protagonist of the 1960s animated TV show Super President. James Norcross is President of the United States of America when through a cosmic storm he gains super powers. Oddly enough despite this being the shows premise and him being referred to as 'Super President' only his adviser, Jerry Sales, seems to know that he's Super President.

James Norcross embodies the idea of office as a sacrifice and duty as an upstanding superhero who prefers to to handle certain matters before the military has to. He's constructed a secret base under the White House from which his futuristic Omnicar transport is stowed- of which the military considers to be a UFO (again despite his name and all of this no one but Jerry Sales seems to have any idea that the president of the United States is a superhero}. Social Issues tend to be addressed on a global rather than nationalistic level and while James Norcross's red tie may seem to hint at a party affiliation the super powered president of the United States is nonpartisan and seems to ride the currents of John F. Kennedy's Camelot.
