Karl Marx was a German-born philosopher and revolutionary who collaborated with Friedrich Engels to write the Communist Manifesto (circa 1848). Karl Marx spent his final years as a stateless man lacking citizenship after 1845. As a stateless man Karl Marx resided in England where he would die in London. Engels continued to work on Das Kapital after Marx died.
