Kurt Donald Cobain was an American singer-songwriter, musician and poet from Washington. Together with Krist Novoselic, he formed what would become one of the most influential rock bands of all time, Nirvana, in 1987 at the age of 20. Struggling with depression, chronic health problems and heroin addiction, Cobain took his own life in 1994 by a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head. Controversy surrounding his death has become popular in later years.
