Maria Bernatkova (October 22, 1857 - May 4, 1969) was a Czechoslovak supercentenarian and the oldest living person in the world for over a year.
Life[]
Bernatkova was born in 1857 in the current Czechoslovakia, what is now the Czech Republic. With the death of Johanna Booyson on June 16, 1968, she became the oldest person in the world. At the time of her death she was the fifth oldest person ever, after Delina Filkins, Mary Kelly, Betsy Baker, and John Mosely Turner. She died at 111 years of age. Ada Roe succeeded her as the oldest living person.
