Noun Replacement videos are videos where a video (such as a song or show intro) is taken, and certain words in parts of a song has a clip or other gag happen before or after the word is said.

The type of videos were popularized and were originally referred to as "Nutshack remixes", due to the popular usage of the intro of The Nutshack for said videos. We Are Number One later surpassed the popularity of The Nutshack's intro in terms of popularity.

The meme originally got big from the intro from The Nutshack. Reviewers such as TheMysteriousMrEnter and Ralph the movie guy have referenced it's popularity in their reviews on The Nutshack. The We Are Number One meme side was famous for rising awareness to a campaign to save Stefán Karl Stefánsson from cancer. The campaign was a success and the actor himself made his own take on the meme and thanked the people for saving him from cancer.
