Pencils are wooden sticks with graphite cores used for writing. They're commonly found in schools as the writing can easily be erased by way of the eraser end, thus allowing students to correct their errors.
Parts[]
The parts of a pencil are:
1. Eraser
2. Eraser holder
3. Wooden stick
4. Lead (really graphite)
Why the pencil lead is graphite[]
The pencil lead is now graphite rather then lead as lead is poisenous when ingested, and students have been known to chew upon pencils while experiencing academic stress.
Triva[]
- Patrick Star calls them writing sticks.
