A penny is an American coin. It is worth one cent. They are minted in Denver, Philadelphia, and formerly San Francisco. The Philly, and Mile High mints make pennies every year. San Francisco still makes money, but it's illegal to spend. WRONG! Every 50 years during a year of 9 (most recently 2009), they make the back of the penny honor Abe Lincoln.
