Ranzi Eto (known in Italy as Ransie Lupescu) is the protagonist of Tokimeki Tonight, a manga that was adapted into an animated series in 1982. Ranzi Eto is the daughter of a vampire father and a werewolf mother who where both banished from the Demon realm due to their relationship and tasked with guarding the gate between our world and the realm of demons. Ranzi due to her heritage has the unique ability to transform into anything or anyone she bites. The downside to this is that to change back she has to sneeze. She competes with Yuko Kamiya for the affection of Shun Makabe, a Human - which displeases Ranzi's parents. The manga was discontinued leaving readers with no conclusion, the 1982 animated series had to devise an original ending.

Ranzi has taken on the form of Birds, Dogs, and Cats by biting them. She has become a puppy a few times.

She has become an Apple and a Baseball.

Ranzi is always thinking of what she can turn into to get out of undesired situations. Only one person has seen past her transformations without seeing her transform, and that was a Giant who wanted to date Yoko. He was able to tell the Ranzi was not Yoko.

Interests and Mannerism[]

In episode 21 it's shown that Ranzi has seen or at least heard of the film 'E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial' as it's the first thing she thinks of when she sees the initial's E.T. on a letter to Shun. She uses 1980s Japanese mannerism in speech to suit her age such as 'Let's go alright! Wow wow wow! (like a dog barking).
