Reception[]

While praised for it's budget price it was criticized for drawing from Pikman, Jak and Daxter, and (most notably) from Rachet and Clank. Reviews where generally mixed.

Similarities to Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando[]

Ruff Trigger: The Vanocore Conspiracy and Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando (a game published three years prior in 2003) stand out the most in their similarities. Both games involve a corporate conspiracy involving the sell of pets and both involve a false antagonist working against the corporate conspiracy. Outside of plot the similarities fall under design aesthetics though such is generally considered less notable as the characters themselves are distinct in design.
