In Bethesda's video game Starfield a Spacer is a generic character representing a member of the Spacers faction in the most broad of sense. While mechanically a faction Spacer is actually a term referring to individuals who live lawlessly aboard starships and space stations who are known for raiding planet side settlements from time to time but mostly for their disregard for the laws of the Freestar Collective and United Colonies in the sense that they treat anything abandoned in space as belonging to them- earning a reputation as space station squatters- while also seeing space as belonging to all mankind and thus not recognizing either entity's claim to the stars. In the 2330s all generic Spacer characters are considered criminals. Every spacer is presumed to have the Spaced trait which decreasing O2 intake and increases health while in space while increasing O2 intake and decreasing health while planet side. The trait represents their body being acclimated to zero gravity as opposed to planetary gravity.
The Spacer generic character is the weakest generic member of the Spacers faction with the other generics being Spacer Punk, Spacer Scum, and Spacer Troublemaker with the latter being the most powerful of the generic characters in the faction.
