Timeline of Galactic History[]
Old Republic Era[]
Early Republic History[]
- 30,000-20,000 BBY: The order of the Jedi Knights is established. [1]
- 3,000 BBY: The Invincible-class Dreadnaught/Heavy Cruiser is designed, taking inspiration from the titanic battlecruisers from the eras of Xim the Despot and the Alsakan Conflicts. At the time it was one of the largest battle cruisers in the Old Republic fleet. [2]
- 800+ BBY: Birth of Yoda. [3]
- 600-596 BBY: Jabba the Hutt was born. [4]
- 302-300 BBY: The representatives of the planet Lianna make a case before the Galactic Senate of the Old Republic for autonomy from the Kingdom of Barseg. Deeming the exploitation of the Liannan people by the Kingdom of Barseg to be severe the senate which had been ignoring the issue as a local matter for years, established a Senatorial Governorship over Lianna. This established the world as separate from the Kingdom of Barseg with it's own governor and the social strife diminished but the pollution and overcrowding issues continued. [5]
- 200+ BBY: Birth of Chewbacca. [6]
- 200+ BBY: According to Santhou Lazith'chika he began to wander the galaxy at this time. [7]
- 200+ BBY: The planet Glova is colonized. Discovery of precious metals used as currency on some worlds and for technology on others is made. This discovery leads to the planet's first population bloom. [8]
- The garden world of Pergitor is settled by the Jesa Corporation, which owned it, to exploit the rich minerals of the planet's volcanic regions. [9]
- 100-96 BBY: On the garden world of Pregitor a deep-core mining operation accidently sets off a volcanic eruption that covers the world in ash and contaminates it's air with pollutants. Over the next few years the world would become toxic enough that gas-masks are needed. [9]
- 99-97 BBY [Speculatively, stated to be less than a century before Mission to Lianna]: The Senatorial Governorship over Lianna ended with direct corporate rule by the Santhe/Sienar Corporation. [5]
- 60+ BBY: Birth of Obi-Wan Kenobi. [10]
- 60 BBY: Mikka Rekeene is born. [7]
- 55 BBY: Lens Rekeene is born. [7]
- Yoda teaches Obi-Wan Kenobi the ways of the Jedi.
- Obi-Wan Kenobi is initiated into the order of Jedi Knights.
- Yoda believes Obi-Wan Kenobi would make an excellent teacher and trains him to be such. Eventually believing it time for Obi-Wan to take on a student of his own, but the coming conflict would prove that assertation to be incorrect. [10]
The Clone Wars[]
- A high-grade computer is built during the Clone Wars and latter comes into the possession of Korkeal Hai during the Imperial Era. [11]
- Obi-Wan Kenobi takes up his lightsaber in defense of the Galactic Government during The Clone Wars. [10]
- Alderaanian War Frigates are developed for use by the Royal Alderaan Civil Fleet during the Clones Wars. [12]
- Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi is promoted to the rank of General [10] and serves under Bail Organa of House Alderaan during the Clone Wars. He like Bail Organa becomes a legendary figure in the conflict alongside Anakin Skywalker. [13]
- Halagar Ventor serves as a Jedi under the command of General Obi-Wan Kenobi during the Clone Wars. Being young and new to the ways of the force he is boastful and acclaim seeking. Throughout his experiences he matures becoming a Jedi Knight and earning the Republic's Medallion of Honor for his service. [14]
- During the Clone Wars Jedi Masters build sabers in just two days time while a Jedi would usually take a month or even a few years to carefully craft a lightsaber. [15]
- Aldar Tallon, a brilliant strategist and warrior fights along side the House of Alderaan and Jedi Knights during the Clone Wars. His strategies and tactics, specializing in Ship-to-Ship combat, [16] as demonstrated during the Clone Wars would go on to be used by both the Empire and Rebel Alliance. [17]
- Aldar Tallon and Dodanna develop a friendship during the Clone Wars. [16]
- The Engineer Walex Blissex designs the Victory-class star destroyer. [18]
- Victory-class star destroyers enter Republic service at the tail end of the Clone Wars [19], specifically the final days of the Clone Wars, [20] and would see little action in the conflict. [19]
- Dodanna becomes one of the first people to captain a Star Destroyer during the time of the Old Republic. [16]
Fall of the Republic/Rise of the Empire[]
This period of Galactic history was known as the Great Peace before that peace was shattered, before what the Republic citizens called 'The Dark Times' that paved the way for the Republic to be re-organized as the Galactic Empire. It's now known either as the Fall of the Republic or Rise of the Empire by historians.
- Perhaps influenced by the wave of victorious spirit that swept across the Old Republic following the Clone Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi takes Anakin Skywalker on as his apprentice. [10]
- Following the Clone Wars the planet of Alderaan turned away from violence and dedicated itself to pacifism. [21]
- The Victory-class Star Destroyer becomes the pride of the Old Republic's navy in the years following the Clone Wars, and the chief proponent of continued peace. [18]
- During the peace that followed the Clone Wars a new breed of naval office came into power caring more about power and glory than the people of the Republic. They drew the Republic out of that peace and into a series of wars and battles that kept the public in a state of fear. During that time of conflict Palpatine rose to power in the Republic. [17]
- The Galactic Corporate Policy League, an organization of individuals who opposed the Republic's prohibition of Slavery and prohibition of world-gouge mining operations, is established. [22]
- Palpatine is elected as a Senator.
- Palpatine in his ambitions enlisted the aid of amoral factions in the Transport and Power ministries of the Republic and in such found an ally in the Galactic Corporate Policy League. Along with support from others who tired of the Republic's meddling in their economic plundering. [22]
- On Capriori an Assassin droid kills 20,000 spectators at a Swoop Arena believing such was the most effective way to eliminate it's target, Governor Amel Bakli. [23]
- A strong opposition to Assassin droids develops in the Old Republic after a number of well publicized incidences where in such droids, usually trapped or surrounded, killed scores of people. These do not lead to a ban on Assassin droids during the time of the Old Republic, rather such would happen under the Empire. [23]
- Mon Mothma, one of the youngest to serve as a Senator in the Old Republic was distrustful of Senator Palpatine and his 'New Order'. Always working within the legal restraints Mon Mothma worked to uphold the principles of the Republic and for this reason was granted the title of Senior Senator in the Senate and would be the last person to hold that title in the Old Republic. [24]
- The Galactic Corporate Policy League throws it's full support behind Senator Palpatine and his plans for the New Order with it's promises of renewed glory and prosperity. [22]
- When Mon Mothma's efforts are no longer able to hold back the tide of support for Palpatine she went underground, starting a political resistance to Senator Palpatine. [24]
- At the time when the Republic was crumbling Chairman Bail Organa, as part of an Alderaan scouting expedition, discovers a crystaline world at the fringe of Republic space. Rather than report the discovery through bureaucratic channels he chose to keep the discovery within his circle of political allies. The world and system in which it was found was named Isis. [25]
- Palpatine is elected President of the Republic. [22]
Imperial Era[]
- Anakan Skywalker secretly becomes Darth Vader after being seduced by the Dark Side of the Force.
- Palpatine announces a New Order and re-organizes the Old Republic into the Galactic Empire with himself as Emperor. [17]
- The Jedi Knights and other enemies of the New Order where hunted down or vanished. [17] [1]
- Obi-Wan Kenobi, learning that his old friend and apprentice was behind the Jedi Order's destruction met Darth Vader in a dual to the death. When it was over, Obi-Wan left Darth Vader for dead and faded into memory like the Old Republic. [26]
- Hagard Ventor was preparing to flee for the Outer Rim Territories as it was clear what Palpatine had planned. However he was stopped by stormtroopers and captured, taken aboard Darth Vader's flagship and tortured. Giving into fear he revealed where a number of Jedi had fled. [14]
- 20+ BBY: Birth of Luke Skywalker. [27]
- 20+ BBY: Birth of Leia Organa. [28]
- Bail Organa manages to relocate a number of Palpatine's political targets to the world of Isis before the Emperor's purge could reach them. [25]
- Hagard Ventor who had been kept prisoner stole an Imperial ship and escaped Darth Vader or rather Darth Vader allowed him to escape knowing that either Death or the Dark Side awaited Hagard Ventor. [14]
- Hagard Ventor lands upon the swamp world of Trinta where he feels a concentration of the force that pulls him. There he finds The Dark Tree, the guilt he feels, the blame he puts on himself for the deaths of so many pulls him to the tree and into the cavern beneath it where he surrenders himself to the Dark Side. [14]
- In response to the suspension of a number of laws that had governed the Republic political resistance to the New Order hardened and open rebellion erupted; disorganized and scattered these early rebellions found themselves being systemically crushed by the Empire's stormtroopers, star destroyers, and economic leverage. [24]
- Assassin droids are used to take out a number of Tyrannical Imperial officials. [23]
- It is suspected that an Assassin droid killed the flight crew of the shuttle Sark 1 causing a spectacular crash into the Imperial Palace on Weerden which killed Lord Torbin, the Grand Inquisitor. [23]
- By Imperial edict the Empire officially prohibits any agency, citizen, or corporation from registering or operating Assassin droids in light of their use against the Empire. [23]
- Aldar Tallon tried to stem the Imperial tide but his faith in a restoration of the Republic was wavering, the Emperor too great a threat. [17]
- Mon Mothma realized that the resistance to Palpatine was now a resistance to the Empire and that if there was any hope against it the various rebellions which at times had competing goals needed to be organized. On Alderaan [28] she brought the leaders of the rebel groups together, forging cooperation, and the establishment of the Rebel Alliance. Her reputation and work in this matter causes the assembled leaders to unanimously elect her as the leader of the Rebel Alliance. [24]
- Walex Blissex, designer of the Victory-class star destroyer, decided to go into hiding rather than create weapons for the New Order. He became a member of the fledgling Rebel Alliance intent on contributing to the restoration of the Republic. [18]
- Lira, the daughter of Walex Blissex marries Imperial Governor Denn Wessex. [18]
- Arakyd develops the AD Weapons Maintenance Droid for sell to the Empire, and produces a number before contract approval. The Empire despite a long-standing relationship with Arakyd conducts a study of the AD in action and finds the increase in efficiency marginal (0.0006%) and therefore does not invest billions into purchasing the droids. This leaves Arakyd without the anticipated customer for the AD and thus it sells it's stock to law enforcement agencies, mercenary groups, and bounty hunting guilds. [29]
- Lira Wessex becomes a rising star in the Imperial War Machine with her Imperial-class star destroyer design, built upon her father's past work. [18]
- Tatooine is settled by colonist from Imperial space. [17]
- Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru settle into the moisture farming trade with their nephew Luke Skywalker.
- Obi-Wan Kenobi retreats into the deserts of Tatooine where he becomes known as Old Ben Kenobi.
- In the Dalcheon Sector while commanding the Imperial patrol craft Battalion Aldar Tallon is seemingly killed along with his crew while protecting a medium sized freighter from pirate marauders. In actuality the pirates, lead by Quist, and freighter where hired to transport Aldar Tallon to safety on the newly settled world of Tatooine. Officially Aldar Tallon and his crew died heroes, obliterated while rescuing a freighter from pirates. [17]
- Emperor Palpatine holds a public memorial service for Aldar Tallon, though privately the Emperor is thankfully that he didn't have to order the death of the Clone Wars hero himself. [17]
- Dodonna having been in retirement at the time of Aldar Tallon's supposed death was saddened, the two having been inseparatable friends. Unlike Aldar Tallon though, the Emperor didn't see a reason in keeping Dodonna around- believing him too old to be retrained to serve the Empire. Due to his friendship with Aldar Tallon, and Aldar Tallon no longer being a potential threat to the Emperor the aged general was ordered executed by Palpatine. A race between the Empire and Rebel Alliance to reach Dodonna first resulted from this order with the Rebel Alliance rescuing Dodonna. [30]
- Aldar Tallon purchases new identities for himself and his crew as they settle into life on Tatooine. [17]
- Aldar Tallon marries a woman on Tatooine. [17]

- Mikka Rekeene is released due to an error and only joins the Rebel Alliance in a bid to free his wife. [7]
- 14-10 BBY: On Travnin the Empire constructs a Swoop Bike Racing Arena to entertain those working at the Imperial Base there as the center of the Empire's presence in the Minos Cluster (home of the Moff, Fleet HQ, and Regional Offices). - 5 BBY: Having served his sentence and earned a burning hatred for the Empire due to his time of forced labor aboard an Imperial warship Siene Symm joins the Rebel Alliance, becoming a starship mechanic and co-pilot aboard The Long Shot working with The Roughnecks. [32]
- 3 BBY: Using The Roughnecks Mikka stole enough money to purchase his wife's freedom. She joined the rebellion after this and was given command of The Roughnecks as she had more martial experience than her husband. Mikka became second in command. [7]
- While Uncle Owen didn't wish Luke Skywalker to go off on adventures, he understood the boy's desire and gifted him with a used T-65 Skyhopper. [34]
- Luke begins racing his friends Biggs and Fixer using his T-65 Skyhopper.
- Biggs gets a newer model of Skyhopper that's finally able to beat Luke's T-65. Luke and his Uncle Owen have a fun time together modifying Luke's Skyhopper to beat Biggs in the next race. [34]
- Fixer tries and fails to land a landspeeder jump over the Great Pit of Carkoon and is rescued by Biggs Darklighter and Luke Skywalker. Fixer is grounded for having tried to do so and his circle of friends find that their own families are also a bit more restrictive on what they can do due to the near-fatal stunt. [35]

While Aldar Tallon organizes his forces Imperial Commander Parlan of the Star Destroyer Relentless hires the bounty hunters Jodo Kast, Zarira, and Proggles Trodd to bring Aldar Tallon into custody. After doing so the Empire issues a sector wide bounty for the successful capture of Aldar Tallon drawing additional hunters not in Parlan's employ to take part in the search effort. [17]

The team steals the plans for the cloaking device and upon escaping from Lianna bring the plans to the Rebel Alliance. Unfortunately, after trying to break firewall protections on the data for several hours, a computer virus hidden in the code is triggered as a final security measure that wipes the data of all computers and droids working on recovering the plans rendering the cloaking device unused by the Empire nor the Rebel Alliance. [5]

A hand selected team is sent after the Moff to both apprehend him and discover the source of this unusual technology dubbed 'DarkStryder'. [38]
