The United Nations Imperium of Total Emergency (UNITE) is the world government featured in the Christian Science Fiction film series 'A Thief in the Night'; an end times thriller. In the lore of the series UNITE was established at some point in the late 20th century (during the events of A Thief in the Night) after the sudden and unexplained disappearance of a vast number of people in the world. This event (the film's iteration of a pre-tribulation Rapture) causes a world wide panic with the United Nations establishing UNITE to handle the unexplained event. UNITE imposes a biochip upon the world population under the belief that if anyone else is taken they can be tracked and located thus giving some indication of what happened to such a large portion of the world's population. UNITE becomes increasingly authoritarian as the series progresses, executing those who refuse to be tracked. Eventually it's domestic policies and tightening of centralized authority cumulates in a nuclear war as nations rebel. The resulting post nuclear world sees UNITE having won the conflict and turned it's focus towards both Humanitarian efforts around a poisoned world (the series iteration of the "wormwood' spoke of in Revelations) and to further vilification of Christians with blame placed on them for the war.
