Viper is one of the legendary members of the Furious Five in Dreamworks' Kung Fu Panda franchise. She's one of the protectors of the Valley of Peace in China and practices an iteration of the Snake style martial arts of Hung Ga Kung Fu. She is a master at the monastery though lacking of a student to call her own. She's expected to pass on her father's techniques once she does. Her senior is Grand Master Shifu following the passing of Grand Master Oogway.
Biography[]
Viper is one of the many daughter of Grand Master Viper and had no fangs when she hatched. This meant that she was unable to execute many of the combat techniques inherit to her father's style of martial arts and thus with sadness he decided not to train her to be a warrior. Viper took it upon herself to become a ribbon dancer. This dancing talent was used to combat bandits that had attacked her father and as she succeed in doing so he saw that he had failed to see her potential. She was trained in his style and in events undetailed her tutelage was transferred to Oogway and Shifu.

Real World Development[]
Viper was for much of Kung Fu Panda's production meant to have fangs. During early CGI renderings of the fight with Tai Long on the bridge she still had such. However it was determined that Viper's fangs where too scary for the target audience and animators went through the task of removing them before final production. They however missed one scene of her talking where her fangs, not bared but slightly retracted (or very blunted), are still in the film. Mention of her as having venom is also still in the film despite a segment of the fight with Tai Long in which Viper bares her fangs to strike him being cut from the finished film before final production. This conscious decision however to make her a Viper without fangs would pave the way for having to explain her lack of fangs which the Legends of Awesomeness did by simply having that she was not hatched with fangs. This has caused a mild conflict that's generally resolved with the compromising consensus that 'she did not have fangs when she hatched but latter grew fangs and developed a venom but they are very small blunted fangs'. The Legends of Awesomeness short would also latter be contradicted in at least one regard, that being that the short depicts Viper as being an only child but a holiday short has her mention that she use to love cooking with her sisters. It is not yet know what the license holders to the franchise will do in regards to resolving this if anything.
